You’re invited to the Go Higher Balloon Release at noon, Wednesday, September 24 at Jessamine County Adult Education.  Ninety-two balloons will be released – symbolizing the hopes and dreams of the 92 GED Graduates that Jessamine County Adult Education has set as a goal for this academic year.  It’s part of the National Adult Education Week Celebration.  Jessamine County Adult Education is located at 200 Computex Drive --  off of Catnip Hill next door to Alltech.  For more information call (859) 887-9052.

Revamped jail GED program garners rave reviews

The GED program offered at the Jessamine County Detention Center recently underwent a face-lift, according to jailer Jon Sallee.

Sallee said that along with cleaning up the old classroom, a Smartboard and computers were purchased to help enhance instruction.

The program also has a new instructor, Will Crane, who previously taught adult education classes at the Fayette County Detention Center. Read more.

Jessamine County Adult Education celebrates "surviving" the GED closeout and already meeting 118% of their annual GED goal in December 2013. Now on to the all-new 2014 GED Test!

Adult-education program gets $35,000 grant from Walmart
