Life Story Writing Workshop


A Community of Memory: Life Story Writing Workshop

Morning Session: Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., May 5 through May 29. Evening Session: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., May 5 through May 29. Free class, registration is required.

In this four-week workshop we will explore the ways we can peel back layers of time to tell our stories. You need not be a writer to create a lasting legacy of the ordinary and extraordinary events of your life. Last Day of School/High School Graduations

 

The last day of school will be Friday, June 6, which will be an Early Release Day. East and West High Graduation ceremonies will be held at Southland Christian Church (Harrodsburg Road Campus) that evening. West High will be at 4pm and East High at 8pm. TPS High School graduation will be Thursday, June 5 at 7pm at Wilmore Free Methodist Church.


 

Early Release Days to become FULL INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS

The remaining Early Release Day in Jessamine County (Apr 23) will be a FULL INSTRUCTIONAL day.

Revamped jail GED program garners rave reviews

The GED program offered at the Jessamine County Detention Center recently underwent a face-lift, according to jailer Jon Sallee.

Sallee said that along with cleaning up the old classroom, a Smartboard and computers were purchased to help enhance instruction.

The program also has a new instructor, Will Crane, who previously taught adult education classes at the Fayette County Detention Center. Read more.

GED Close-Out Campaign

Jessamine County Adult Education celebrates "surviving" the GED closeout and already meeting 118% of their annual GED goal in December 2013. Now on to the all-new 2014 GED Test!

Adult-education program gets $35,000 grant from Walmart
