Hola! I'm very excited to be teaching Spanish at West Jessamine High. This is my fourth year in the district. I have a lot of experience in the actual Spanish-speaking countries. I have lived in Spain, Costa Rica and Mexico for a combined total of 28 months. I lived in Texas and Florida for a total of 13 years. Additionally, I was actually married to a Spaniard and spoke Spanish in the home for 19 years. I have two adopted hispanic children. So, I live/lived what I teach.
I've also spent a lot of time through the years translating and interpreting for hospitals, doctor's offices, courts, police department, 911 dispatch and other local businesses and schools.
My degrees are as follows:
BA - University of South Florida, Tampa, FL
MA - California State University, Sacramento, CA
KY Teaching Certificate - Centre College, Danville, KY
Rank 1 in Secondary Education Supervision - Union College, Barbourville, KY
Most recently, I got married....so my new last name is Peters.
I look forward to teaching your child and sharing one of the loves of my life....Spanish!!
