Non-Resident Student Enrollment

Last Updated: 3/31/2023 8:16 PM

Jessamine County Schools is now accepting applications for the enrollment of Kindergarten-12th grade non-resident students. The Kentucky General Assembly passed House Bill 563 during the 2021 Regular Session and as of July 1, 2022, students are no longer required to live within the school district or county to attend the school of their choice. Non-resident student applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to capacity limits. If you are not currently a resident of Jessamine County and would like for your student(s) to attend JCS, please click the link below for the school year for which you would like to submit an application. Completion of the application does not guarantee admission into JCS and additional information will be required for full enrollment.

As the 16th largest district in the state, Jessamine County Schools has been described as “The best of both worlds.”  Why?  We’re a close-knit family with the personal feel of a smaller district, while offering state of the art facilities, the latest technology, and an abundance of opportunities for our learners.  We focus on students and their individual educational needs, helping them to find their passion and purpose, all with a high-quality, caring staff.  We’re a leader in Kentucky education, with a commitment to innovation and a tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts.  From eSports and robotics, to archery and bass fishing, our students enjoy extracurricular programs and multiple ways to connect with their interests and their peers.  And, as they plan for their future, we provide our students with Advanced Placement, dual credit and dual enrollment options as well as opportunities in Kentucky’s 16 career and technical education pathways, including Advanced Manufacturing, Biomedical Science, and Pre-Law.  Join our community of learners and discover why #WEAreJessamine!

Those applying as non-resident students for the 2022-2023 school year may apply at any time for consideration for enrollment.

For those applying as non-resident students for the 2023-2024 school year, we encourage families to submit an application no later than April 14, 2023.
