STRATEGIC PLANNING

BIG IDEAS

2027 HORIZON GOALS

BIG IDEA 1: We have a vision for a  tiered approach to instruction that includes rigorous curriculum and high yield instructional practices.

By 2027, 

  • The composite score for junior ACT testing will be a 22.5.

  • On the spring administration 2027 of the CERT test, at least 50% of students will achieve a student growth percentile of the 50th percentile or greater in each testing area.

  • In the spring of 2027, special education students will score at 25% P/D in Reading and 15% in Math. 

  • College/Career Readiness-In the spring of 2027,  85% of students will graduate being benchmarked in ELA (Reading, English, or both) and 80% of our students will graduate benchmarked in Math. 

BIG IDEA 2: We have a vision for fostering a positive and structured learning environment that prepares students for post-secondary success

By 2027, 

  • Maintaining a 97% or higher 4-year graduation rate and a 98% 5-year graduation rate. 

  • Average attendance will be 94% by 2027.

  • 90% of staff will write 5 or more positive referrals in the 2027 school year. 

  • By the 2027 school year, WJHS will reduce ODRs by 25%. 

  • In 2027, 45% of graduating students will earn a JCS Work Ethic Seal.

 

Approaches

 

CERT integration, high yield instructional strategies and intentional communication/process for ACT prep.

 

An intentional CCR plan incorporating classroom instruction and targeted student interventions. 

 

PBIS and SEL structures for expectations, positive reinforcement, and student support.

 

Attendance/student service team initiatives and work ethics focus/communication.

 

Focused work with special education students in co-teaching and resources classes.
