School Safety

Our Commitment:

Jessamine County Schools strives to provide a safe and healthy culture in order to meet the mental, physical, and emotional needs of students in a safe and positive environment. Safety is our highest priority.  Students learn best when they feel secure, and in order to reach our district’s goals of meeting each student’s learning needs and helping students find their passion and purpose in life, we must first address our goal to ensure that our students are learning in a safe and positive environment.  We work closely with local law enforcement and other safety professionals to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep our students and staff safe.  Our safety plan is a part of our district’s culture and is put into action each and every single day.

From more noticeable methods, including the presence of our School Resource Officers and the visible security features of our facilities, to behind-the-scenes training and safety reviews and building strong positive relationships with students to support their well-being, we work daily on the many aspects of school safety.

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care; please know that we take this responsibility very seriously.  Thank you also for being our partners as safety is everyone’s job.  We will remain vigilant and we will continue to revise and improve our safety procedures to ensure that our students and staff have safe places to learn and work.

Families: Make sure your emergency contact information is up to date! If you need to update phone numbers, please contact the school secretary of your child's school.
