Update from our 4th grade field trip to JCTC! 🧬🔬
Students had an incredible hands-on experience extracting DNA, building models of their DNA, and learning just how quickly germs can spread! Real-world science in action and so much meaningful learning happening beyond the classroom walls. We are proud of our curious, engaged Mustangs!

Kids Heart Challenge (KHC) is coming back to BES this February!
KHC is run by the American Heart Association. It is an educational, service-learning program for elementary schools that teaches kids how to keep their hearts and brains healthy. Students engage in physical activities, learn about heart health, and raise funds for the American Heart Association to help children with special hearts, earning rewards for their efforts.

Big News! We are applying for the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Grant!
If we win this competitive grant, we will be able to offer FREE after-school and summer programs for the next three years.
Our proposed program will include:
✅ Daily Homework Help & Tutoring
✅ Hands-on STEAM & Art Activities
✅ Summer Camps
✅ Family Engagement Events
We are working hard to design a program that meets the specific needs of our students and community. If you have input regarding the design and development of this proposal, please contact Toni Dix at toni.dix@jessamine.kyschools.us or (859) 887-2012.
