A great day for Jaguar Golf! Our girls brought home a 5th place out of 12 teams at the Region Championship, while our boys finished 7th out of 24 and picked up a win over West along the way! We also have three golfers moving on to state! Great finishes for both teams! We’re proud of you, Jags!

Freshman Chyler is headed to State after qualifying for the KHSAA Girls Golf! We’re excited to celebrate this huge accomplishment and can’t wait to see what she does on the course. Way to go, Chyler! You’ve got this! Go Jags!

One more round for this Jaguar! Congratulations to senior Katie on qualifying for state for the KHSAA Girls Golf! We’re so proud of all the hard work she’s put in this season. She’s earned her spot at State, and we can’t wait to see her tee it up! Good luck, Katie! Go Jags!

Did you know that each day in KY 400 blood donors are needed? Help out your fellow Kentuckians by donating next week at school. The fall blood drive will be on Wednesday September 30th from 9-2. To sign up to donate see Ms. Cooper in the media center.

Busy doesn’t even begin to describe it! Our custodial team has been working nonstop, from setting up for volleyball and cleaning up after football to preparing for iReady testing and getting everything ready for our College & Career Fair. And somehow, through it all, East High continues to look amazing for our students and staff! We are so grateful for the hard work, dedication, and behind-the-scenes magic our custodians bring every single day. East High custodians ROCK!

Our bus drivers play an important role in keeping our Jaguars safe each day. From the moment students step onto the bus until they arrive safely at school and back home, our drivers are responsible for so much more than getting students from one place to another. Their care, attention, and commitment help make safe transportation possible for our students and families. During Kentucky Safe Schools Week, we are proud to recognize our bus drivers and thank them for the important role they play in keeping our school community safe. Together, we will continue to look out for our Jaguars!

It’s Kentucky Safe Schools Week, and today we’re shining a spotlight on two of the people who help keep our school safe every single day. Ms. Fugate and Ms. Turner are part of our front office team and serve as important gatekeepers for East High. From welcoming students and families to keeping a watchful eye on who enters our building, they help create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone.Thank you, Ms. Fugate and Ms. Turner, for helping us keep our Jaguars safe!

PSAT Registration is now open for Juniors and Sophomores!
You may be wondering, “Why should I take it?” Here are two really good reasons:

If you’re interested in applying for GSP, you’ll need to have taken the ACT, PSAT, or SAT. GSP is a highly competitive, five-week summer program for outstanding Kentucky students. Students selected attend the program free of charge, and being a GSP Scholar can also lead to scholarship opportunities at Kentucky colleges. Your GPA, course rigor, test score, activities, service, recommendations, and writing all play a role in the selection process.

For juniors, the PSAT/NMSQT is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. High-scoring students can earn recognition as Commended Students or Semifinalists, with Semifinalists having the opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships. Each year, thousands of students are recognized, and scholarships are awarded through National Merit, corporate sponsors, and colleges.
