2024-25 JCS Excellence in Education Nomination Form: https://bit.ly/3PtDr68 Jessamine County Schools is proud to sponsor school level Teacher of the Year and district level Excellence in Education Awards. As a result of this process a Teacher of the Year will be selected by each school and a district selection committee will then begin the process of identifying one Excellence in Education winner in each school category, elementary, middle, and high. Teacher of the Year and Excellence in Education winners will be recognized at the Jessamine County Schools Opening Day activities. The Excellence in Education winners will have their names submitted as nominees for Kentucky Teacher of the Year for 2025. Nominations must be completed by Friday, January 31, 2025 at 5pm

We hope everyone is staying safe and warm as we navigate this week’s winter storm. Due to continued concerns with road conditions and low temperatures, Wednesday, January 8th, will be NTI Day 2 in Jessamine County. (NTI Day 1 was back in November.) For families experiencing power outages, we want to reassure you that students will have extra time to complete their NTI assignments. Your family’s safety and well-being come first, and we will work together to ensure that students can stay on track. Our teachers will be available via email to offer assistance and support with assignments throughout the day tomorrow. If you or your child have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. In addition, JCS Childcare will be open for students that are pre-registered and have a confirmed NTI spot from 8-5, and Athletic Directors will communicate with coaches and teams about athletic events. We appreciate the crews who are working tirelessly to restore power, clear roads, and keep our community safe. Your efforts are deeply appreciated and make a difference in helping us return to in-person instruction as soon as possible.

Mrs. Isbell's class was treated to yummy doughnuts for winning the Helping Hands Food Drive for kindergarten this year! 🍩 These sweet kiddos would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season! 🎄

Ms. David's class earned 10 otters! To celebrate their hard work and teamwork, they had a cozy and fun pajama day—complete with comfy clothes and big smiles all around! 🎉🦦

Ms. Chance's class has enjoyed all of the fun gingerbread stories and activities this week especially when Mr. John is the guest reader with all of his amazing sound effects and character voices!

Ms. Hailey's class is enjoying small group time, rolling the dice and adding the corresponding number of "lights" to our light string. It's a fun way to practice math while spreading some holiday cheer!
