In recognition of their dedication and contribution, Mayor Harold Rainwater proudly presented the students with keys to the City. You can check out their project at www.jessaminecares.org!

Students from the RDES Eagle Squad have begun planting a summer garden. Mrs. Beers checks on the garden throughout the summer. Any produce is taken to summer feeding sites by Mrs. Andrews to share with our community.

We are SO excited to welcome our Future Eagles to RDES! Last night our incoming 1st graders had the opportunity to visit RDES and meet some of our staff. If you got a picture, please feel free to add yours in the comments!

Don't forget to wear your NEON colors tomorrow! All students are invited to wear NEON colors as we kick off our KSA Testing week for 3rd-5th grade students!

During KSA testing, we will instruct all students to not bring a cell phone or electronic devices, including a smartwatch. However, if they do, they must be stored in their backpack in their cubby before testing begins to maintain test security.

Please join us in celebrating our principals, Mr. Joe Payne & Mrs. Maggie Osborne, on National School Principal's Day! We are so grateful for everything they do for our students, families, and staff every day!

Our 4th graders took a Field Trip to Gattitown last week. Students learned about fractions and how they are used in the real world-- specifically in cooking and making pizza. This was definitely a favorite trip for many!

Check out some of Mrs. Burden's students hard at work! These students were doing some writing practice with her.

Here is the Book Fair schedule for the upcoming week. If you would like to create an E-Wallet for your child, please visit https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/rosenwalddunbarelemsch to do so before your child shops. This is a great way to send money without needing to send cash with your child. If you do send cash, please make sure it is in an envelope or baggie labeled with your child's first & last name. Thanks for your help with this!

Miss Preston's class is dreaming BIG dreams! These students have been laying the foundation for a project that will be known as "Jessamine Cares." They recently had a visit from Ms. Patty Teater and Ms. Ronda May to learn more about this project. Students have a goal of helping to build an orphanage in Malawi, Africa. Keep your eyes out for more information in the coming months!

Our Hearts and Soles Girls Running Club is collecting donations for our local animal shelter until Friday, April 25th. If you are able to send an item in, our girls would greatly appreciate your support!
