Today, four outstanding JCS educators got a big surprise! They were awarded the Jessamine County Ed Foundation Continuing Education Scholarship, and a $2,500 check to support their continuing education this school year.
Out of more than 100 incredible applicants across our district, selecting just four was no easy task. We are so proud of all our educators who applied, and we are thrilled to recognize this year's recipients!

We believe learning should go way beyond traditional classroom walls! Our Grow Academy afterschool and summer program at NES meets students right where they are with hands-on, real-world experiences, awesome community partners, and fun activities that help students stretch their minds and build on what they learn during the day!💙
To show that GROWing takes time, everyone potted their own plant cuttings to care for, track, and watch flourish over the school year, just like their own skills and confidence! 🌿✨

We had an incredible day hosting the statewide kickoff for All In for Ag Education Week and National Farm Safety Week right here in JCS! Our students got front-row lessons in safety during a live mock rescue with local emergency responders, followed by an action-packed time at agriculture learning stations. From hands-on activities and live animals to seeing heavy equipment at work, and a special story time with Miss Kentucky, it was a day full of discovery! ✨
A huge thank you to our local first responders, exhibitors, and community and state partners who made this such an impactful and memorable event. We also want to thank Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman, Education Commissioner Robbie Fletcher, and Ag Commissioner Jonathan Shell, for joining us and supporting our students! 👏

Our gyms were filled with energy, purpose, and endless possibilities as EJHS and WJHS students took big steps toward their next chapter during our annual College & Career Fairs!🚀
Whether mapping out a four-year degree, preparing for a trade, or entering the workforce after graduation, our students came prepared with great questions and bright ambitions, connecting with nearly 60 representatives from colleges, universities, trade schools, military branches, and local employers. 🌟

You may see emergency vehicles, first responders, and a MedEvac helicopter on-site near JCTC and JELV. Please rest assured that this is an educational demonstration and all part of the scheduled program.👍

We are thrilled to host the statewide kickoff for All in for Ag Education Week, also coinciding with National Farm Safety Week!🚜
As part of the event, on the morning of Monday, September 21, 2026, our 5th grade students will rotate through hands-on agriculture learning stations, and watch a demonstration of emergency personnel responding to a mock agriculture-related accident. 🚑
We're notifying our community in advance to ensure our neighbors and families are fully aware and not alarmed. If you are near the event in the area of JCTC and JELV on Monday morning, you may hear sirens, and/or see emergency vehicles, first responders, and a MedEvac helicopter, which are all parts of the scheduled program. 🚁
Throughout the week, students across Jessamine County Schools will participate in a variety of educational activities focused on agriculture. We are looking forward to celebrating the many ways agriculture impacts our community and our daily lives!🌾❤️

Safety in our schools is about more than security; it's about community, connection, and building a foundation where every student can thrive.
To kick off Safe Schools Week, our district leaders, local officials, law enforcement, and incredible Sources of Strength student leaders gathered together for a special proclamation signing to declare our shared commitment to keeping our schools safe, welcoming, and supportive.✨
Let’s keep the momentum going all week long! We encourage you to talk with your kids about what makes them feel safe, how to practice kindness, and help us nurture the strong roots that build a safer, stronger environment for all students.
Today, our school community paused to observe the 25th anniversary of 9/11 - a day that forever changed our nation. 🇺🇸
Even though 2001 was before our students' time, their commitment to honoring the history, memory, and enduring spirit of September 11th shines brightly. FOX 56 News joined us at WJHS as students participated in mini-lessons and commemorative activities, reflecting on the day's historical impact and significance.
We are incredibly proud of how our students and staff continue to embody the compassion, unity, and spirit of service displayed by so many who came together on that day.
