As we move through the week, let’s remember the anchors that keep us steady at East!

We are so thankful for our School Resource Officer and the important role he plays in keeping our students and staff safe every day. Beyond ensuring our school is secure, he builds strong relationships with our students, serves as a trusted mentor, and is always ready with a helping hand or listening ear. His presence brings peace of mind to our entire school community, and we are grateful for his dedication, kindness, and commitment to making East Jessamine a safe and welcoming place for all.

Save the date juniors and seniors!

GAME DAY!!!

We’ve been highlighting the JCS Graduate Profile this year, and now we want to take a closer look at each part, especially what it means for seniors in their final year who are pursuing the Work Ready Seal and Recognition program. This resource was created by one of our own, East graduate and FCS teacher, Hanna Hager!

If you are interested in bass fishing, we are having sign-ups this Thursday, August 21st from 6:00-7:00 PM at JCTC Central.

Some of our current & alumni athletes representing at the UK recruitment clinic! Go Jags!

Calling all East Jessamine High Lady Jags that are interested in playing softball this spring! We will have our first open field of the fall on Thursday, August 21st from 5:00-6:30 pm.

Computer Science student Trenton Abelar exemplifies the Graduate Profile pillar of responsibility. He approaches every task with excellence and timeliness, embraces challenges with critical thinking, and goes above and beyond by helping classmates, offering support with kindness and respect.

East High is thrilled to welcome Ms. Kaitlynn Wilks to the team. Inspired by her parents’ work in special education, she brings a genuine passion for making a difference in students’ lives. She is excited to learn, grow, and build connections with the Jaguar family throughout the school year. A former college basketball player and devoted fan of the sport, she also loves attending concerts and traveling with friends and family. We are especially excited that she will be sharing her love of the game by helping coach the women’s basketball team.

Game Day!

The Class of 2026 will symbolically kick off the new school year with our Senior Sunrise on August 22! We’re so proud to have started this tradition with our Jessamine County and can’t wait to see it continue to grow. Here’s to celebrating our seniors, making memories, and starting the day with a bright outlook!

Game Day!

The students in Art 1 and Dual Credit collaborated to make drawings together with one marker yesterday. It's not as easy as it looks!

Jaguar Nation is thrilled to welcome a 30-year teaching veteran who is now in her second year here in Kentucky. Mrs. Busick and her husband, Shaun, make their home in Danville with their son, Drew, who is a college sophomore and plays on his school’s men’s basketball team. The family also includes two energetic dogs, Niko and Luka, who keep life lively. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys water sports, traveling, playing the piano, and spending time with her family. Her love for adventure began in high school when she spent a year in Japan as an exchange student. Since then, her travels have taken her to Russia, Germany, Austria, the Bahamas, and Canada. She is excited to get to know the students and staff and fully immerse herself in all things EJHS this year! Welcome to East, Mrs. Busick!

It's going to be a great school year!

Shoutout to our 4th year team member, Abby, who attended the @kycheertrainingcenter recruitment clinic recently! Her dedication and drive never go unnoticed. Attending the Kentucky Cheerleading College Combine is just one example of how she pushes herself beyond her comfort zone to grow as both an athlete and a leader. Abby exemplifies our Graduate Profile pillar of Work Ethic. She always produces quality work, stays committed to her goals, and continues bettering herself for the good of the team. She is a shining example of what it means to combine talent with perseverance. And a big cheer to our alumni, Joe and Michael, for proudly representing their programs. We love seeing current and former Jaguars chasing excellence on and off the mat.

We’re excited to invite our incoming freshmen and new students to come explore East Jessamine High School before the first day of school! Come walk your schedule, find your classrooms, and get familiar with the building so you’re ready to start the year with confidence. Staff and House Leadership will be on hand to help answer questions and make sure you feel right at home.

Abby Coofer is entering a new chapter at East with a heart for high school students and a passion for helping them succeed. After four years of teaching and coaching in the jungle, she is grateful for the chance to continue coaching while also guiding students through their final steps before graduation and into the real world. She is excited to spend more time with some of the best kids in the district and see East from a new perspective. Outside of school, Abby enjoys cheering on East athletics, relaxing at the lake with her family, traveling, and the joy of being a mom. Her commitment to students and love for the Jaguar community are at the center of everything she does. Let's give her a big, Jaguar welcome!

We’re so proud of Addy for living out the Connected Citizen pillar of our Graduate Profile! She helped with our district’s Opening Day video, representing East with creativity, collaboration, and heart. Addy’s willingness to connect across grade levels, contribute her voice, and help foster a sense of belonging is exactly what being a Connected Citizen is all about.
