Our 4th graders had their annual "Survivor" Day on Thursday, May 15th. We know their day was filled with excitement!

Mrs. Rogers' and Mrs. Presley's 5th grade class enjoyed a Luau yesterday! Students dressed for the theme, decorated Hawaiian shirts, and even signed beach balls!


Our Eagle Squad has continued to get things planted for our summer garden. We can't wait to see what it produces!

We will have Awards Assemblies for students in 1st-4th grade on Monday, May 19th. Your child's teacher will contact you and/or send home an invitation if your child will be receiving an award. Teachers should be reaching out at the end of this week.
If you plan to attend the assembly, please make sure you complete our Google Form (https://tinyurl.com/RDESAwards24-25) by the evening of Sunday, May 18th. This will assist us with getting everyone into the building and seated in a timely manner. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.



Field Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21st. Our rain date is Tuesday, May 20th. We will communicate on Remind and Facebook if we need to move our Field Day to the rain date. If any adults plan to attend Field Day, please complete our Google Form (https://tinyurl.com/RDESFieldDay25) by the night prior to Field Day. Field Day will be from 8:15am-1:30pm. By registering early, you will be able to provide your name and enter the building. Please be prepared to show your ID if requested.

The Wilmore City Council recently heard an engaging presentation from some of Miss Preston's students, who shared the impactful work of their Jessamine Cares project. In recognition of their dedication and contribution, Mayor Harold Rainwater proudly presented the students with keys to the City. You can check out their project at www.jessaminecares.org!

Students from the RDES Eagle Squad have begun planting a summer garden. Mrs. Beers checks on the garden throughout the summer. Any produce is taken to summer feeding sites by Mrs. Andrews to share with our community.

We are SO excited to welcome our Future Eagles to RDES! Last night our incoming 1st graders had the opportunity to visit RDES and meet some of our staff. If you got a picture, please feel free to add yours in the comments!

Thank you, Walmart, for dropping off some goodies for Teacher Appreciation Week today! We are grateful for our community partnerships!

Mrs. Orange's class has been super engaged in their math centers this week! We love seeing all of the different styles of learning happening!

We are celebrating our cafeteria staff today for all they do to keep our students fed and able to learn. Each lady was gifted a small bouquet of flowers and Panera bagels & coffee were provided this morning. Please join us in thanking these ladies for their hard work and dedication!

Don't forget to wear your NEON colors tomorrow! All students are invited to wear NEON colors as we kick off our KSA Testing week for 3rd-5th grade students!

During KSA testing, we will instruct all students to not bring a cell phone or electronic devices, including a smartwatch. However, if they do, they must be stored in their backpack in their cubby before testing begins to maintain test security.

Don't forget! Our annual Spring Festival is tomorrow evening! We DO have a rain plan and will move activities inside! All activities will be free. Food trucks will be available if you would like to purchase food. We would love to still see our families!
