We are SO excited to get new bleachers over the Winter Break!

Our 4th and 5th grade students are in enrichment groups during their Week 5 Specials Rotations. Check out the VEX Robotics that some of our students have been working with during this time!

Our 4th grade Music & Art Enrichment students had the privilege of visiting Cedarhurst Senior Living this week. This opportunity was made possible because of a grant from the Jessamine County Education Foundation. Students performed for residents, helped residents create their own artwork, and enjoyed a snack and fellowship with residents.

It's Peppermint Patch time! Our students love shopping at this annual Shoppe hosted by our PTO!

Last week, students in 4th and 5th grade had the opportunity to learn about the WJMS and WJHS choirs and bands. Our students loved the performances and it certainly sparked interest in the programs!

This week is our Week of Holiday Spirit! We can't wait to see all of our students dressed up!

Our annual Peppermint Patch is December 16-20! Please see the images for more information.

Happy birthday to our favorite fur-end, Bruno! Bruno turned one just a few days ago. We love having Bruno at RDES! Please join us in wishing him a year filled with extra belly rubs, lots of tail wagging, and of course, a few treats!

Just a reminder-- here are the upcoming spirit days!

Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Angel's graduation from Easter Kentucky Universtiy!

Mrs. Maggard's class has been working hard the first semester! A few of their topics have included pumpkins, wind/erosion, and Gingerbread Cookies!

Check out our 24-25 Principal's Forum! These students are a diverse group of strong communicators selected by Mr. Payne. One student from each 4th and 5th grade class is chosen to be part of this forum. Every six weeks, the students meet with Mr. Payne and have an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions about a variety of things at RDES. We are thankful for their willingness to serve!

Check out what our students have been working on in art the past few weeks! Third graders have been doing an ocean collaboration project where they are building 3D models of ocean animals based on a text they are studying in their homeroom classrooms. Other classes have been doing a little abstract art with paint sticks, color wheels and last, but not least, gingerbread houses and tree house building. We love seeing our students being creative!

Our annual Helping Hands Food Drive starts tomorrow!

Our third graders have been learning about ocean animals! During their research, they are also collaborating with Mrs. Goggins to create drawings and 3-D models of the animals they are learning about. Check out some of the progress Miss Preston's class has made already!

Mrs. Kenimer & Ms. Prudencio's class have been hard at work learning about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Mrs. Orange's class has been busy this year! Take a peek at all of the different activities they have been working on!

Mrs. Heister's class enjoyed learning about heat energy during our first snow of the season!
