Our 5th graders have been studying the Revolutionary War. Our Social Studies teacher, Ms. Anders, challenged her students to turn their investigation of the Boston Massacre into a debate. The students had to decide if the soldiers were innocent or guilty. This experience was both challenging and engaging as students worked collaboratively to research and defend their points of view!

Once a week after school, some of our very talented 4th and 5th graders and our music teacher Mrs. Crockett fill our halls with beautiful music and singing! These students are rehearsing for their upcoming JCS All County Choir day where they will gather together with students from the other JCS schools for a day of music, singing and fun. They are having a blast learning new songs and getting ready for their performance!

Our students learn about our world by experiencing different cultures. Recently our first graders created dragon masks that represent good luck in the Chinese New Year during art class. They also sang some Chinese songs and danced with their dragon masks during music. We love when our specials teachers can collaborate on special projects!

Many thanks to our PTO for purchasing new playground equipment for our students to play with during recess - hula hoops, balls, sidewalk chalk, and more! Our kids are so excited! Also, our PTO treated our staff to a soup and salad lunch last week which was enjoyed by everyone. We are lucky to have such a great PTO who supports our students, staff, and families. We are always looking for more family members to join in and help with events and tasks. If you are interested, please email warnerpto0@gmail.com.

🎉Congratulations to our Warner Academic Team for their 3rd Place Overall finish in the District Governor's Cup competition yesterday! Our quick recall team earned 3rd Place, and at least one of our students placed in the top 5 in every content area for the content assessments and written composition. We are SO proud of these students for their hard work and perseverance. Thank you to Mrs. Shelton for dedicating her time to coaching this team! On to Regionals!

Our Twirl Jessamine Baton Team entertained the crowd during halftime at a Parks and Rec basketball game today! Many thanks to Donna Daniel, Donna Roberts and Misty Jordan for providing these girls with the opportunity to build poise, confidence, friendships and baton-twirling skills.

Our students represented Warner well at the JCS Superintendent’s Student Forum, where they shared valuable feedback and ideas with Superintendent Crum along with other students across the district. It was a great opportunity for students to have their voices heard and contribute to the conversation about the future of our Jessamine County schools!

❄️Many thanks to our custodial team, Ms. Rachel, Mr. Marty, and Ms. Terrie (not pictured), for their hard work and perseverance in preparing our grounds for our students and staff to return to school last week! We are lucky to have such a dedicated team who loves Warner!

💜Marley missed her beloved Warner friends over the break and was so excited to get some love at school yesterday. The feeling was definitely mutual!

💙We loved welcoming our Warner Wildcats back to school today! The building was filled with smiles and excitement as we reconnected with each other. We are looking forward to a great rest of the year!

🎄As you are enjoying the last moments of Christmas, we wanted to share a few more pictures from our holiday fun last week!

❤️💚Our day was full of holiday fun with Christmas parties, a glow-themed lunch, some Christmas crafts, hot chocolate from our PTO and even a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus! We hope all of our students and families have a wonderful winter break, and we look forward to seeing you in January!

Our Wildcat Buddy groups met today, bringing together staff and students across the school to build meaningful connections and strengthen relationships. These monthly gatherings foster a sense of community and teamwork, supporting a positive school environment where everyone feels they belong!

🎄Our incredible staff members were showing their festive spirit today by dressing up as characters from some favorite Christmas movies! From Santa’s helpers to reindeer, there’s a little bit of holiday magic in the air!

Our Warner family continues to make a difference in our community! During our food drive partnership with the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce, we collected over 1,400 food items that will be donated to the Jessamine County Food Pantry. Congratulations to Ms. Simpson's class for bringing in the most items - 316! Also, many thanks to our Student Leadership Team for coordinating the food drive at Warner, gathering the items from the classrooms and counting all of the items. We're also grateful for a few Warner Champions who helped with the gathering and counting of the items, too. What a great way to come together and make an impact!

🎄Our annual holiday sing-along tradition was a hit! Students and staff had a blast playing holiday-themed games, singing festive holiday songs, and celebrating the season together. It was the perfect way to spread holiday cheer!

Our STEM class has been full of holiday cheer as our 5th grade students built balloon-powered rockets to test speed and distance for Santa’s sleigh. They also discussed potential and kinetic energy. What a fun way to explore STEM concepts!

What a wonderful night celebrating our talented students in the 4th grade's winter musical showcase! Based on the book A Mountain of Mittens by Lynn Plourde, our students brought the story to life through acting, singing, dancing, and playing instruments. A huge thank you to Mrs. Crockett for her creativity and hard work in making this performance possible!

Friday was an exciting day for our 3rd-5th graders! JCTC career pathway student ambassadors hosted an engaging career pathway fair, giving our students the chance to explore future careers and high school pathway options. We're so grateful for our partnership with JCTC and the incredible opportunities they bring to our Warner community!
