🎃Our annual pumpkin book character contest was a success! We love all the creative ways our students use pumpkins and art to bring book characters to life.

💙With it being Safe Schools Week, we want to give a huge shout-out to our Warner bus drivers and monitors! We are lucky to have such a great group of drivers and monitors who really care about our kids. One terrific example is Ms. Kayla and Ms. Melanie celebrating their students' birthdays with a treat from their Birthday Box!

Our third graders recently read stories about solving problems with themes of clever thinking, learning from others, the simplest solution, and everyone makes mistakes. Students utilized creative problem-solving methods and collaboration to save Fred, a friendly worm who took his boat out on the lake and forgot to put on his life preserver. A strong wind caused his boat to capsize. Fred was stranded on top, and his life preserver was underneath. Students created a plan to turn Fred's boat right side up, put Fred in his boat, and put Fred's life preserver on him. Students were not allowed to touch Fred (gummy worm), his boat (plastic cup), or the life preserver (gummy Lifesaver). They were allowed to use 4 paperclips to save Fred. A great way to practice thinking critically to solve problems!

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, our 5th graders learned a folk dance from Mexico, our 3rd graders learned a patty cake game from San Juan, and our 1st graders learned a song about the coqui frog in Puerto Rico!

🎉Congratulations to our Warner students and staff! We recently received our state testing ratings based on the 2023-24 Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) that our 3rd-5th graders take each spring. Each school is assigned a color based on its performance level. Our overall score increased from last year, and Warner is now categorized as a GREEN/HIGH-PERFORMING school! We are so proud of our students' hard work and the intentionality of our staff!

🎉Our specials teachers are so excited for the first day of school tomorrow!!!

💙We loved seeing all of our Warner Wildcats at open house tonight. What an exciting year we have ahead of us! Welcome back, everyone!

❤️Back to school time is right around the corner. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer, and we'll see you soon!

🌳Knowing how much we all miss the tree that had to be cut down on our primary playground, our 2nd graders researched, created a plan, and were able to get a replacement tree donated for our playground. Many thanks to Kent Slusher for donating the tree which will be planted this fall. Another meaningful project where our students demonstrated the JCS Graduate Profile attributes!

❤️As their Graduate Profile culminating project, our 3rd graders chose to give back to our school community by reading with our 1st graders. All of the kids loved it!

🎉Congratulations to Kim Frazier, Warner's Classified Employee of the Year! She is highly efficient in her work as she juggles three roles - our bookkeeper, registrar and attendance clerk. She also cares for our students and our staff, willing to help out wherever she's needed. We are lucky to have her!

🎉Congratulations to our 2023-24 Classified Employee of the Year nominees! We are blessed to have so many wonderful staff members at Warner.

💙💚Congratulations to the EJHS seniors and our former Warner Wildcats! Our students and staff enjoyed cheering them on during their graduate walk through Warner.

Our first graders recently completed a special project that included demonstrating all of the JCS Graduate Profile attributes! They created a plan and worked together to raise $89 to purchase treats for the staff at the Jessamine County Public Library to show appreciation for all that the JCPL does for our students. Our first grade teachers enjoyed making the special delivery!

🎉We celebrated our 5th graders tonight during our 5th Grade Recognition! It's always bittersweet watching our students grow and then sending them on from Warner. Get ready, EJMS! You've got a fantastic group of kids coming your way. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!💙

Our students, as part of our Stable Moments program, enjoyed a fun-filled day with horses and other animals at Justin's Place, a local horse farm with the mission to help children experience peace and joy through horses. We are grateful for our partnership with the staff at Justin's Place and appreciate this unique opportunity for our students!

🍦Thank you to Southland Christian Church for treating our staff to a visit from the Mister Softee ice cream truck during Teacher Appreciation Week this week!

🌹Our first grade had a little Derby fun with Derby hats and their own Run for the Roses!

❤️Our 5th grade musical, Momotaro, was a hit! This talented group of students sang, danced, played instruments, and even wrote the script for this Japanese folktale. Thank you to our music teacher, Mrs. Crockett, for creating such an inspiring production!

We recognized our 5th graders for their completion of the DARE Program last week! Thank you to the Nicholasville Police Department for continuing to invest in our students and partner with our school. We are also grateful for the support of Mayor Carter and Superintendent Moore. Congratulations to Quinn Ardery, McKinlee Wise, Jayden Chaney and Marlee Tuggle for winning their classroom DARE essay competitions and reading their essays during the graduation!
