West Jessamine High School

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day, Colts! Today is a day to celebrate the people who work hard and make a difference in our community every day. To our teachers and staff, families, first responders, local businesses, and all the hardworking people who keep our community going — thank you!

Temps were high. ☀️Energy was higher! 💥

Have an incredible long weekend, WJHS! Thanks for a great week!

Learning to lead takes practice! Our ACE Peer Tutors took on obstacle courses to practice giving clear, effective peer instructions—and learned quickly that communication is a skill you have to put into action. What a fun way to build the skills they need to support their peers with confidence, patience, and clarity.

Your reason is reason enough, Colts. 💜🩵

Next Tuesday, September 8th is 988 Day — a reminder that you don’t have to wait for a total crisis to reach out for support. Big or small, whatever you’re carrying right now is valid, and you don’t have to carry it alone.

How to get involved:

👕 Wear Purple & Turquoise to school on Tuesday, September 8th.

📲 Save 988 in your phone. Call or text 24/7 — it’s free and confidential.

📱 Share this post so your friends know support is always available.

Let’s look out for each other, Colts. 💜🩵

We're about one week away from a big informational night for our Seniors their families! Next Wednesday, September 9th we will host Senior 101 in the auditorium at 6pm. Immediately following, there will be a meeting about the Senior Trip to New York City which will be held in the cafeteria! We encourage you to attend!

September at West High is looking 👍

Congrats to our 26-27 Rho Kappa inductees. Thank you Ms. Mattie Albertson for speaking words of wisdom as they embark on this journey of knowledge and service.

Lady Colts golf...Comacho Tournament champions, against some of the top teams in the state!

When the Colts say "lights out" they mean it! The black out was in full effect tonight. Despite some blown breakers, the offense and defense were humming as the Colts took care of Wayne County 42-7! A huge shout out to Pecco for providing last minute lighting mid-game. 2-0- @ Lincoln County next week.

One week. Tons of memories made. Many more to come!
Kinda chic to be a Colt✨
