Each year, Jessamine County Schools recognize one teacher from each school as the Teacher of the Year. Each school’s TOY will then complete a classroom observation and an interview to be considered for the Jessamine County Teacher of the Year in the categories of elementary, middle, and high. The district TOYs are recognized at our district opening day and go on to represent our county in the statewide Teacher of the Year process. Nominations will be open from January 16 - 26. Please submit your nominations for West Jessamine Middle School Teacher of the Year using the link below. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeYnnkiMGroBLTeF1lG0eeh2QGqefcrzr5DFaG_QJLIXMEm1g/viewform

Spread HOPE to WJMS Students
Five West Jessamine Middle School Colts gathered with East Jessamine Middle School leaders for table host training during the week of November 13 at the Jessamine County Public Library. Our student leaders gained insights into protective factors and strengths that they can subsequently share in future Youth Cafes. Their participation and training represent the next essential step in connecting other WJMS Colts with positive peers during times of need. Please mark your calendars for our upcoming WJMS Youth Cafes scheduled for January 19 (with a snow date of 21), March 15 (with a snow date of 22), and a final event on May 11th. For additional information about this pilot program, feel free to reach out to Sara Shouse at the Jessamine County Health Department via email at sara.shouse@jessaminehealth.org.
