We hope everyone is staying safe and warm as we navigate this week’s winter storm. Due to continued concerns with road conditions and low temperatures, Wednesday, January 8th, will be NTI Day 2 in Jessamine County. (NTI Day 1 was back in November.)
For families experiencing power outages, we want to reassure you that students will have extra time to complete their NTI assignments. Your family’s safety and well-being come first, and we will work together to ensure that students can stay on track.
Our teachers will be available via email to offer assistance and support with assignments throughout the day tomorrow. If you or your child have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
In addition, JCS Childcare will be open for students that are pre-registered and have a confirmed NTI spot from 8-5, and Athletic Directors will communicate with coaches and teams about athletic events.
We appreciate the crews who are working tirelessly to restore power, clear roads, and keep our community safe. Your efforts are deeply appreciated and make a difference in helping us return to in-person instruction as soon as possible.

Due to road conditions, cold temps, and power outages, Tues. (Jan. 7) will be a traditional Snow Day for JCS. ❄️ No NTI work. All athletic games, activities, & child care are canceled. No decisions yet for the rest of the week—please be ready for NTI if needed. #JCSsnowday

Reminder: JCS is closed Monday, Jan. 6th for a Teacher Workday. Due to road conditions, all athletic/after-school activities are cancelled today and Monday, and there will be no JCS child care on Monday. We’ll keep monitoring and share updates for the week. Stay safe!

JCTC Foundations of Law and Public Safety students paid tribute by placing wreaths at Camp Nelson National Monument. This meaningful act honors the sacrifices of the past, connects us in gratitude this season, and inspires hope for a future of service and unity. #JCSRespect

JCS art and music enrichment students spent time with Cedarhurst residents, collaborating on art projects and sharing the gift of music with a holiday concert. We're proud of these Connected Citizens who know that the true magic of Christmas is in the joy we share with others.❤️

Together, we're making a difference! ❤️
We're thrilled to share that KCAL's Gospel Showcase benefit has raised $10,700 to support homeless students in our community—and contributions are still being accepted!
This incredible success would not have been possible without the hard work of the dedicated organizers at KCAL, the generosity of the performers, and the support of all who contributed. Your kindness ensures that every student has the opportunity to succeed, no matter their circumstances.
Want to help? Donations are still welcome! To contribute, please contact Doug Fain at hdouglasfain@gmail.com
THANK YOU for making a lasting impact!

What a cool experience for the EJHS Chorale! They visited FOX 56 to record a segment and got a behind-the-scenes look at TV station operations. You can catch their feature when it airs on Dec 24th at 11 pm and on Christmas Day between 5-6 & 9-10 am and 7-8 pm. We can't wait!💚💙

WJHS Honor Society students are wrapping veterans in warmth and gratitude this holiday season! 🎄These Connected Citizens have been hard at work creating blankets to donate to Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, spreading joy and showing appreciation for those who have served. 🇺🇸 Their spirit of giving warms our hearts! ❤️

Love Lacrosse? We've got you! EJHS is hosting a lacrosse clinic to introduce this exciting sport and gauge student interest in starting a program! The free clinic is open to all JCS students and no experience or equipment is needed to attend. Whether you’re curious about the game or already a fan, it's a great chance to give it a try and learn the basics with us! #TrySomethingNew #JCSPassion&Purpose
