JCS elementary schools are looking forward to welcoming our future first graders and their families at the upcoming Kindergarten to 1st Grade Transition Night! Join us this Thursday, May 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. for an evening designed to help make the move to first grade a smooth and exciting adventure!
For Wilmore Elementary only, Transition Night will also extend to incoming Kindergarten students who will attend school at WES next year.
Students and families will have the opportunity to visit classrooms, meet teachers and staff, and learn more about what to expect. It’s a great chance to ask questions, build connections, and ease the transition as we prepare for another great year of learning and growth.
We can’t wait to see you there! #TransitionNight

How does a great teacher spark curiosity and ignite a passion for learning? By creating immersive, hands-on experiences that students never forget.
At EJHS, Mrs. Propes transformed the classroom into a mini-museum, sharing a collection of World War II artifacts. This powerful, up-close encounter with history brought the past to life in a way textbooks never could.
JCS is proud to celebrate educators like Mrs. Propes who go above and beyond to make learning meaningful and memorable. #TeacherAppreciationWeek #ThankATeacher

Hands-on learning got a little wild at BES when a special guest introduced 2nd and 3rd graders to some fascinating animals! While a few students were a bit hisss-itant at first, courage quickly took over. Check out these brave and curious learners! #ScienceInAction

This incredible team, led by Angela and Adam Miller, went undefeated this season, earning back-to-back titles and achieving the highest score in program history. They continue to be recognized at JCBOE meetings for their outstanding success—and they’ve earned every bit of it! 🎉

History made at EJHS! At last night's meeting, the Jessamine County Board of Education congratulated Shaylin Adams, the first EJHS student to receive the prestigious Gates Scholarship! Out of more than 48,000 applicants nationwide, only 750 students were selected—and Shaylin earned her place among them! This incredible honor includes a full cost of attendance scholarship to any college in the U.S., along with ongoing support throughout her college journey. Shaylin’s dedication, drive, and excellence truly shine and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things this Jaguar will accomplish next. We're SO proud of you, Shaylin! 💙 #JaguarPride #GatesScholar

Our final Superintendent Student Forum meetings of the year were a blast! Students provided valuable feedback to JCS Food Service leaders—sharing their favorite (and not-so-favorite) cafeteria items, tips on how we can improve, and even taste-testing potential new menu options. A big shout out to JCS Food Service for their continued efforts to make our menus both nutritious and delicious! 🍽️
We've learned so much from each other-thank you to these incredible student leaders for their insights and input on so many important topics throughout the year!

Happy Earth Day! 🌍
Today students are celebrating our amazing planet with a sweet treat — KY Proud ice cream! 🍦Supporting area businesses is just one small way we can show love for the Earth. Let’s continue to take care of our world, one scoop (and one good choice) at a time!

Today, please join us in showing some extra appreciation for our dedicated staff who keep our schools moving forward! 🚍
Long before our hallways fill with footsteps, our drivers and monitors are already on the road. They greet with a smile, offer a listening ear, remember routines, and help start and end each day on a positive note. Through early mornings, rainy afternoons, and everything in between, they make sure each student gets to school and back home safe and sound.
We're so grateful for our amazing Transportation Team - they're at the foundation of everything that we do. 💛

If you were there, you felt it — our first-ever district-wide Color Run was an absolute blast! 🏃♂️ A huge shoutout to our incredible Sources of Strength students, dedicated staff, enthusiastic participants, and everyone who pitched in to make this event such a colorful success!
