We were treated to an incredible Wicked-themed spread each day—nacho bar, breakfast goodies, sweet and salty snacks, a pasta and potato bar, and pizza! To top it all off, numerous door prizes made the week even more fun. A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing PTO and all of our families and local businesses for their generous donations to make this week so special. We definitely feel appreciated and loved!

👑Mrs. Phillips' class recently enjoyed a special visit with Rachel Smith, the reigning Mrs. Southern States and mom of one of our students! Because Rachel's platform is the importance of helping children learn to read, she brought a special story to share with Mrs. Phillips' class. Good luck to Rachel as she competes in the National Amerifest Pageant later this year!

🍭Our Warner Wildcats are ready to CANDY CRUSH the KSA test!
Our hallways have transformed into a real-life Candy Land, bursting with sweet decorations and excitement. Today, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders paraded through the school as our 1st and 2nd graders cheered them on with encouragement and school spirit.

🌳Our 2nd graders had a special Earth Day celebration this week with a visit from local arborist Kent Slusher!
Kent talked with students about the importance of caring for our planet and even donated a beautiful new oak tree for our primary playground—replacing the beloved old oak that had to be removed last year. Students rolled up their sleeves and helped plant the new tree, which we look forward to watching grow for years to come. A huge thank you to Kent Slusher for his generous gift and for inspiring our young learners with his time and knowledge!

Four of our terrific Warner Wildcats represented Warner well at our district's Superintendent Student Forum! A few times this year, these students gathered together with students from across the district to share their feedback and ideas about a variety of school-related topics with Superintendent Crum. During their final meeting this week, our students talked with the JCS Food Service Team in order to give feedback about the food options at breakfast and lunch. They even got to taste-test some potential new menu items!

Our talented 5th graders brought the story, The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt, to life in an unforgettable performance! From writing their own scripts and creating artwork for the set, to performing original music on xylophones and ukuleles—and of course, delivering incredible acting—these students amazed us with their creativity and teamwork. A huge thank you to our music teacher, Mrs. Crockett, for guiding and inspiring our students and giving them this opportunity to shine on stage!

Hattie Chat, our student-led live morning announcements, is a highlight of every day at Warner! Our students take charge by preparing content, running the tech, and delivering the news and daily updates for our school community. It's a complex process that builds confidence, creativity, and communication skills. A big thank you to Mr. Luchtenburg for guiding this incredible experience and helping our students develop and discover their unique talents!

💙At Warner, we truly value the voices of our students as we work to make our school even better! Each month, our Student Voice Committee meets with Principal Mrs. Coy and Assistant Principal Ms. Beale to share thoughts on what’s going well at Warner and how we can make it an even better place for kids. We discuss topics like learning, fun, safety, behavior, and of course, their favorite topics —cafeteria food and recess! What an amazing group of 3rd-5th grade student leaders we have shaping our school!

🌎Over 350 students and families joined us for An Evening Around the World! Our families experienced the food, art, literature, music, and dance of a variety of cultures. Many thanks to local storyteller, Ed Bryson, the Jessamine County Public Library, the local Elona Market and our Warner families sharing their cultures for making our night extra special. Also, we are thankful for Southland Christian Church for providing dinner for all of our families. What a fantastic night of celebrating around the world!
