💙Today, one of our students, Riley, had the exciting opportunity to step into leadership as Principal for the Day! She and Mrs. Coy spent the day delivering encouraging notes to teachers, supervising the halls, monitoring students in the cafeteria during lunch, enjoying lunch with friends, and helping with the buses during dismissal. It was a fun and memorable day for both Riley and Mrs. Coy!

Our students absolutely loved meeting the amazing firefighters from Station 1 yesterday. We had so much fun checking out their gear and getting an up-close look at the fire truck! Thank you to Fire Chief Cox and the entire Station 1 crew for visiting our school and inspiring our future community heroes! 🚒❤️

🚒Congratulations to Riley for winning lunch with Fire Chief Cox and an exclusive tour of a fire truck! A huge thank you to Fire Chief Cox and his Station 1 crew who helped make this possible. As an extra treat, our 1st and 2nd graders also got to check out the fire truck!

Mrs. Phillips' class passed 1,000 iReady lessons! They celebrated today with a class party! 🎉👍🏼 We love seeing our students dedication and hard work pay off!

🐶 One of our lucky students, Quinn, won the special opportunity to be our therapy dog’s handler for the day! Our furry friend, Marley, spent the day learning right alongside our students—joining classroom activities in Mrs. Webb's room, attending the awards celebration, enjoying recess, and soaking up lots of attention (and treats!) from Quinn and his classmates. It was a super fun and heartwarming day for everyone! 💙

1st grade has been learning about the phases of the moon. They applied their newfound knowledge to make the phases of the moon with Oreos! Yum! 🌝😁

Our first graders have been learning all about shadows! 🔦 They used flashlights to explore the way shadows move. These scientists have "bright" futures! 🌟💫

💙🖤One of our students, Bomin, won the exciting opportunity to serve as our School Resource Officer for the day! He spent time working alongside our SRO, Officer Wilson, helping supervise the halls, ensuring classroom doors were secured, and he even received a personal tour of the Nicholasville Police Department. Bomin shared that this experience has inspired him to pursue a career in law enforcement in the future. A huge thank you to Officer Wilson for making this such a memorable day!

🇺🇸With Veterans Day coming up next week, it was an honor to host our Veterans and their Warner students for breakfast today! Our hallways were beautifully decorated with letters and pictures of encouragement created by our students to show their appreciation for those who have served. A special thank you to Ms. Ruth and our amazing food service team for transforming the cafeteria with patriotic decorations, including their personal pictures of Veterans from their own families. We are so grateful for our Veterans and for everyone who helped make this celebration so meaningful!

Our first graders became Library Explorers during their field trip on Thursday! 📚🗺️ Huge thanks to the amazing Jessamine County Public Library for showing these young readers how much fun can be found at the library!

Ms. Herzing is an invaluable member of our Warner community. She provides crucial support that helps our students thrive, ranging from academic support and social-emotional strategies to collaborating with teachers and families to cultivate a positive and safe learning environment. 📝 5th graders shared their Codex writing projects with 3rd graders last week! What a special time for both grade levels to be able to collaborate and learn from one another!

🍁Our first graders had a blast at Eckert's Orchard on their field trip today!

✨Wildcat Buddies! ✨ Students spent time connecting with their Wildcat Buddy teacher and group while also making cards for Veterans! ❤️💙

Every morning at Warner each class participates in their own Morning Meeting. Students learn more about social and emotional strategies, like setting and achieving goals, showing empathy, and making responsible decisions. This is also a time for each class to build their class community! Check out these 4th graders working together to make their classroom shine with lovely artwork! Tomorrow, during Morning Meeting, students will get to meet with their Wildcat Buddies to help grow their connections with our entire Warner community! 💙

🧪🧑‍🔬5th grade students hard at work investigating properties of matter and chemical reactions using everyday chemicals and creating their own “goo” in a surprising chemical reaction experiment.

🐱📝Wow! Our amazing 3rd grade students were beaming with pride as they shared their informative writing pieces. Each student wrote about an animal, describing its classification and unique characteristics. Today, they took time to present these pieces to fellow students and adults in our school. It was wonderful to see their hard work and enthusiasm on display!

🍭 Did you know the famous board game Candy Land isn't just a fun, family game? 💖 It was originally created for kids recovering from polio in hospitals, giving them a fun activity while they were isolated. Our 4th graders connected with this history by: ✍️ Writing & reading personal narratives (including a powerful one about a girl with polio). 🎲 Designing their own board games to share their stories. 🍬 Playing Candy Land to analyze sensory details and dialogue!

Drawing, Determination, and Delicious Vocabulary! 🎨🍎

It's been a busy but incredibly fun week of learning for our 1st graders! We've been focusing on:

1.) Not giving up! Our students channeled their inner artists by drawing our favorite character, Pepito, during our social-emotional learning time. Look at that focus! 👀

2.) New words! We're diving into all things apples, which means lots of fun new vocabulary to learn. 🍏
