Annual Update Required: OLR is not a one-time thing—it must be completed yearly for all students.
Summer Support: If you have any questions or concerns throughout the summer, please feel free to call the school at 859.885.6670 and leave a detailed message. Mrs. Andrews will also be available throughout the summer. She can be reached by leaving a message on the school phone, through ParentSquare, or by emailing her at emily.andrews@jessamine.kyschools.us.
Weekly Check-Ins: Our main office line will be monitored and messages will be checked weekly throughout the summer break to assist you.
Summer Letters & Supply Lists: Our summer letters and supply lists are usually mailed in mid-July. We will post when letters are going to be arriving so that families can watch for them.

This past Thursday, members of our incredible Rosenwald Dunbar Elementary School staff stepped out to hand out summer meals to our students and families. We are so incredibly grateful for their dedicated hearts, leadership, and willingness to serve our community.
Seeing our Eagles connect outside of the classroom is always a joyful reminder of how much we care deeply about each other. Thank you to everyone who came out, and an extra big shoutout to the staff members who made this day a little brighter and easier for our families! 💙🎒

Any family with an incoming 1st grader or new student at RDES for the 26-27 school year is invited to join our ParentSquare group for New Students. (You do not need to join the RDES Information group at this time.) This will allow you to get messages from us throughout the summer, including when our summer letters and supply lists are sent out.

Can you believe it? Tomorrow, June 1st, is officially the last day of school!
We are so incredibly proud of our Eagles and all the hard work, perseverance, and growth they’ve shown this year. From meeting new learning goals to exploring new passions, it has been a joyful journey together.

Brooke is a shining example of Connected Citizenship at Jessamine County Schools. Whether she is stepping up to help a friend in need or taking on extra classroom responsibilities, she consistently brings value to our school community. Her positive attitude and collaborative spirit make her a true leader!



Our students at RDES had an absolute blast celebrating ClassDojo success with an epic Dojo Day, sponsored by our amazing PTO! 🎉
During their Specials rotation, our Eagles got to burn off some energy, bounce, and race through a variety of awesome inflatables. But the fun didn't stop there! Mother Nature threw us a little curveball, which actually worked out in our favor—we scored an extra day of bonus fun! 🌦️✨
For round two, our students tackled a whole new lineup of games, including an ultra-competitive, high-energy inflatable Gaga Pit!
A massive thank you to our incredible PTO for sponsoring this event and making it all possible. Our Eagles definitely earned this reward with their hard work and positive behavior!





He is a model of Successful Communication in our classrooms. By actively participating, sharing his unique ideas, and letting his curiosity lead the way, he makes our class discussions better for everyone. We love how he uses his voice to stay engaged and keep learning!



Carter is a fantastic example of Successful Communication in action. By sharing his knowledge with others, asking insightful questions, and modeling kindness and manners, he shows us all how to be open and empathetic. We love seeing his curiosity drive him to learn and share more every day!



We are so proud of this Eagle for shining in Successful Communication. By expressing her feelings and connecting with those around her, she is mastering the art of communicating in a variety of ways. Her positive energy and voice make our school community a better place!




We are so proud of this student for leveling up his Work Ethic this year. By showing grit, staying focused on his tasks, and bringing a "get it done" attitude to the classroom, he is proving what it means to have a growth mindset. Keep up that amazing effort!



Our RDES Eagles loved having the Jessamine County Public Library visit us on Monday, May 18th! 📚✨
All of our students got to hear an exciting presentation about the amazing library events being offered this summer. Even better—every student picked out a brand-new free book to keep and received a special ticket to redeem a small prize at the library's children's desk on or after May 31st! 🎉
We are so grateful for our community partners who help our students look forward to a summer full of learning and fun with friends!
